Callisto Linear Pendant: Small vs Large for Your Table or Island
Compare Callisto’s two lengths using real prices, table proportions and a practical suspension checklist.
In This Article
The Callisto Linear Pendant comes in two lengths, but choosing between Small and Large takes more than matching the fixture to the longest table you can fit in the room. Its narrow alabaster form creates a horizontal line above the furniture. The right length depends on where that line begins and ends, the view across the table, and the suspension arrangement available at your ceiling.
Quick answer: Compare Callisto's listed 55.4-inch Small and 71.5-inch Large against the table or island in plan, then confirm total hanging height separately. The listed 2.4-inch body height is not the complete ceiling-to-bottom drop. Use the examples below to shortlist a size; they are proportion exercises, not installation clearance rules.

Small vs Large: What the Listing Actually Specifies
The Callisto product listing was checked on October 5, 2026. Prices below are in USD before additional promotional codes. The final selected option and checkout determine the current purchase price.
| Option | Listed body length | Listed body height | Listed price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small | 55.4 in / 141 cm | 2.4 in / 6 cm | $1,800 |
| Large | 71.5 in / 182 cm | 2.4 in / 6 cm | $2,800 |
These are the product page's paired measurements, with rounded unit equivalents. Ask for the dimensional drawing if your fit depends on a fraction of an inch. The two named sizes differ by 16.1 inches in listed length and $1,000 in listed price. That price difference does not establish a proportional difference in light output.
The description identifies natural alabaster and metal construction. It lists LED lighting, hardwired power, dimming, and 3000K warm white as the default with an optional 4000K specification. The current standard selector contains only Small and Large. Finish, color-temperature and suspension requests mentioned in the description need written confirmation rather than an assumed extra checkout option.
Compare the Ends of the Fixture With the Ends of the Table
Start with the table length used most days, then repeat the exercise for any extended configuration. For a centered fixture aligned with a rectangular table:
Projected end margin = (table length − fixture length) ÷ 2.
This is the horizontal distance between the fixture's projected end and the table end. It is not a head-clearance measurement, a lighting coverage calculation or an approved minimum setback.
| Table length | Small: margin at each end | Large: margin at each end | What to review |
|---|---|---|---|
| 96 in | 20.30 in | 12.25 in | Whether the longer line crowds the end-seat views |
| 120 in | 32.30 in | 24.25 in | Whether the shorter line feels too concentrated at the center |
Neither row assigns a mandatory size. A 96-inch table might suit the shorter line when artwork, a window or a compact dining zone already creates a strong composition. The longer line may be worth reviewing when a more extended fixture is wanted. On a 120-inch table, the smaller fixture may still be intentional, particularly when other lighting serves the table ends.
Use a scaled drawing or a paper strip on the tabletop to compare the two lengths from the doorway and seated positions. A tabletop mock-up tests plan proportion only; it cannot establish the suspended appearance or mounting position. The guide to linear chandeliers over long tables covers the wider layout questions.
For an Island, Measure the Working Zone as Well as the Counter
An island's full length may include a sink, preparation surface, seating overhang and a cooktop. Mark these zones before centering a decorative fixture over the entire countertop. Check the view toward the range hood, cabinet openings and the route around the island.
- Draw the proposed fixture centerline and both ends above the actual counter plan.
- Mark the ceiling connection and ask whether it can support the required suspension layout.
- Review seated views from stools and standing views from the preparation side.
- Identify which other fixtures provide working light where it is needed.
The product listing does not establish suitability for a particular wet, heat-exposed or cooktop location. Give the actual conditions to your installer and obtain the relevant product specification. Callisto's decorative length alone cannot tell you whether the work surface receives adequate illumination. For multiple fixtures, use the island spacing guide alongside the selected assembly drawing.
Keep Body Height Separate From Overall Drop
A slim 2.4-inch body can still hang far below the ceiling. Determine the desired lowest position in the actual room and ask for the complete ceiling-to-bottom dimension achievable with the selected assembly.
If a hypothetical room has a 108-inch ceiling, a 30-inch tabletop and a designer-selected 34-inch gap above that table, the target bottom elevation is 64 inches and the target overall drop is 44 inches. This arithmetic illustrates the measurement method; the 34-inch gap is an example, not a recommendation for every installation.
Do not order a 44-inch wire based on that result. The canopy, connectors, suspension geometry and fixture body must all be accounted for in the manufacturer's drawing. The current listing does not provide enough detail to calculate every component length, minimum drop, canopy dimension or finished weight.
Choose the Stone Appearance and Controls Deliberately
Natural alabaster varies in veining, tone and translucency. Compare available current imagery with the room's stone, wood and metal finishes, allowing for daylight and camera differences. A gallery image represents an appearance, not an exact pattern guaranteed for your piece.
The description mentions brass/gold-tone, bronze and white metal finishes. Ask which finish will be supplied with your selected size and have any change recorded in the order. The same applies to an optional 4000K request. Do not assume a fixed-temperature option is adjustable between 3000K and 4000K.
For dimming, give your electrician the driver and control specifications for the actual configuration. “Dimmable” does not identify the compatible wall control, minimum dimming level or whether a neutral is required. The dimming compatibility guide explains the information to match.
Your Callisto Order Checklist
- Small or Large, with a marked furniture plan and normal table position.
- Confirmed overall drop, canopy dimensions and suspension points.
- Confirmed metal finish and color temperature.
- Fixture weight, mounting instructions and compatible control details for the installer.
- Delivery destination, expected schedule and any specification approval needed before production.
For a deadline, confirm timing for the exact configuration before scheduling the final installation. Review the shipping policy and return conditions, especially when requesting changes outside a listed standard option.
