Lighting Size Guide

Find the Right Fixture Size

Use these quick rules as a starting point for choosing chandelier size and hanging height. For large foyers, staircases or custom installations, we recommend reviewing the full room dimensions.

01 Chandelier Diameter
Room Length + Room Width

Add the room length and width in feet. Use the same number in inches as a starting chandelier diameter.

Example: 12′ + 14′ = about 26″ diameter
02 Dining Table
About 1/2–2/3 of the Table Width

The chandelier should feel proportional to the table while leaving visual space around the fixture.

Keep the fixture centered over the table
03 Dining Hanging Height
30–36″ Above the Table

For a standard dining installation, measure from the tabletop to the lowest point of the chandelier.

Adjust slightly for ceiling height and fixture proportion
04 High Ceiling / Staircase
Size by Overall Space and Drop

Double-height foyers and staircases should be sized using ceiling height, room width, fixture length and the desired lowest point.

Sightlines and floor clearance should also be considered

Customer Reviews

Overall rating: 4.5 / 5 from 24 reviews.

Small detail, but the metal finish looks better in daylight than it did on my screen.

Edith Pendant

The order was mainly about getting the proportion right. The finish matched our other hardware better than expected. The fixture has a more professional feel than the options we saw locally.

Edith Pendant

I was more concerned about quality and shipping than the design, and the hardware lined up better than expected. The tracking updates were not daily, but the delivery window was accurate enough. The height adjustment was important for the final look. I would not rush the installation, but the final result was worth the planning.

Edith Pendant

This was not a quick impulse purchase for us. We chose it for the counter area, and the sockets and wiring points were tidy enough for our electrician to work with. Each glass piece was separated with foam, which saved time during inspection. The fixture feels secure after installation. The room feels more complete now that the fixture is installed. We had to wait for our electrician instead of installing it ourselves. Overall it feels like a considered purchase rather than a quick decorative item.

Edith Pendant

I changed my mind about the size after the first conversation with the team. They answered the follow-up questions without making me feel rushed. The box was well padded when it arrived; I still waited for the electrician to open the last layer.

Edith Pendant

The installer had no issue with wiring, but two people were needed to hang it safely.

Edith Pendant

Good scale for our villa living room. This is not the type of light I would install without planning. Measure first, confirm ceiling support, then order.. The brass hardware looked better under warm light than in the box. I would have liked one more close-up photo of the mounting hardware. The stone veining is not perfectly identical from piece to piece, which is part of the material.

Edith Pendant

We put Edith over a breakfast table, not a big dining room. It has enough presence without hanging right in everyone's line of sight. The stone is the part people notice.

Edith Pendant

For our breakfast bar, we needed something that looked finished but still practical. The color was close to the photos, with small natural variation. We checked the alabaster/stone detail closely before installation and did not see chips or rough edges. The canopy covered the ceiling opening cleanly. The fixture became the main feature in the room, but the light output is still useful. Each glass piece was separated with foam, which saved time during inspection. Communication was practical and mostly about measurements, which I appreciated. We did not need a replacement part, but the packing made it easy to identify each piece. The crate was bulky and took effort to open. The final result matched the direction we wanted for the room.

Edith Pendant

I was more concerned about shipping damage than style when I ordered this. Customer service helped with sizing, and the fixture fit the room as planned. I would use this supplier again for a custom lighting job.

Edith Pendant

For our entry nook, we needed something that looked finished but still practical. The frame did not twist or feel loose during installation. The alabaster/stone detail looks better once installed at the right height rather than sitting in the crate. We changed the hanging length before production and they updated the order without making it complicated. It took longer to unpack than to wire the fixture. The packaging created a lot of material to clean up afterward. It worked well for our space and did not feel generic after installation.

Edith Pendant

We compared a few options before choosing this one. In person, the hardware lined up better than expected. We checked the alabaster/stone detail closely before installation and did not see chips or rough edges. The scale was right once we saw it in the room, not just on the floor. Nothing was broken when we opened the box, which was my main concern. We changed the hanging length before production and they updated the order without making it complicated. The product page could show one more close-up of the mounting detail. Overall it feels like a considered purchase rather than a quick decorative item.

Edith Pendant

We wanted a fixture that could hold up in a project setting, and the stone/glass surface looked more refined in person than in the close-up photos. The alabaster/stone detail was the detail that made the fixture feel different from a standard catalog light. The tracking updates were not daily, but the delivery window was accurate enough. It gives the space a more finished look without feeling overdone. The order was for a remodel, so having dimensions confirmed in advance helped avoid delays. We had to wait for our electrician instead of installing it ourselves. I would recommend confirming all measurements first, then ordering.

Edith Pendant

We compared a few options before choosing this one. In person, the finish looked even once it was under room lighting. The crate was heavier than expected, so two people were needed to move it inside. It gives the space a more finished look without feeling overdone. We did a full inspection before the installer arrived, which I recommend for fixtures with multiple parts. We had to wait for our electrician instead of installing it ourselves. I would use this again for a planned project where timing is flexible.

Edith Pendant

We compared a few options before choosing this one. In person, the individual pieces were wrapped separately, which made sorting easier. The alabaster/stone detail looks better once installed at the right height rather than sitting in the crate. It gives the space a more finished look without feeling overdone. They followed up after delivery to check whether the crate arrived safely. Installation needed two people because the fixture has weight and multiple parts. Delivery took some planning, but the packaging protected the fragile parts well. The light output depends a lot on the bulbs, so we tested two color temperatures before choosing one. The packaging created a lot of material to clean up afterward. Good choice if you care about material and scale more than fast delivery.

Edith Pendant

I bought this after seeing similar fixtures used in a hospitality project. The client originally wanted something smaller. After taping the dimensions on the wall, this size made more sense.. The room needed a dimmer; without it, the output felt too strong at night. The fixture did not feel fragile after it was assembled, even though some parts needed careful handling. They answered practical questions rather than just sending generic replies. For a high-value fixture, the process felt reasonable.

Edith Pendant

Our installer handled this for a entry nook. From the parts we checked, the sockets and wiring points were tidy enough for our electrician to work with. The alabaster/stone detail reads well under warm light and does not look flat in the room. It took longer to unpack than to wire the fixture. The support team helped us confirm the scale against our table width. The fixture needed a little more planning than we expected. I would use this again for a planned project where timing is flexible.

Edith Pendant

We ordered this for our breakfast bar, and the main thing I noticed was the color was close to the photos, with small natural variation. We checked the alabaster/stone detail closely before installation and did not see chips or rough edges. The delivery appointment needed coordination, but the fixture arrived in good condition. The room feels more complete now that the fixture is installed. The packaging created a lot of material to clean up afterward. I would order again, but I would schedule installation after confirming delivery.

Edith Pendant

We used this in a small dining table with a higher ceiling. The hardware lined up better than expected. We checked the alabaster/stone detail closely before installation and did not see chips or rough edges. The delivery appointment needed coordination, but the fixture arrived in good condition. The height adjustment was important for the final look. The fixture looked oversized on the floor but made sense once it was at ceiling height. The experience was more like ordering a project fixture than buying a regular lamp.

Edith Pendant

We used this in a studio workspace with a higher ceiling. The hardware lined up better than expected. It took longer to unpack than to wire the fixture. Nothing was broken when we opened the box, which was my main concern. We had to be careful not to mix the parts during unpacking. I would recommend confirming all measurements first, then ordering.

Edith Pendant

It took a little time to understand the parts layout, but after that the installation moved steadily. They sent enough detail for my electrician to prepare before delivery. The height adjustment was important; once that was corrected, the fixture looked right. The size felt appropriate once furniture was back in place.

Edith Pendant

We used this in a entry nook with a higher ceiling. The finish looked even once it was under room lighting. The alabaster/stone detail looks better once installed at the right height rather than sitting in the crate. Nothing was broken when we opened the box, which was my main concern. The fixture pairs well with neutral walls and darker metal accents. A small level adjustment after installation made a noticeable difference. The crate was bulky and took effort to open. The final result matched the direction we wanted for the room.

Edith Pendant

This was used in a small dining table renovation. The metal parts felt solid rather than thin. The alabaster/stone detail reads well under warm light and does not look flat in the room. Delivery took some planning, but the packaging protected the fragile parts well. The canopy covered the ceiling opening cleanly. The crate was bulky and took effort to open. I would order again, but I would schedule installation after confirming delivery.

Edith Pendant

Good project fixture for a entry nook. The finish was clean, and customer service helped confirm the hanging length before production.

Material Comparison

Genuine Alabaster vs. Resin Imitation

They can look similar in photos, but natural alabaster and resin differ in veining, weight, translucency, heat resistance, and the way they glow when illuminated.

Genuine Natural AlabasterNatural stone with unique veining and layered translucency. No two pieces are exactly alike.
Resin Imitation AlabasterA manufactured material with more controlled color and pattern, usually lighter and more uniform.
ComparisonGenuine Natural AlabasterResin Imitation Alabaster
Veining & TextureNatural, layered and non-repeating veining with a cool, stone-like surface.Patterns are more controlled and may repeat; the surface can feel warmer and more uniform.
WeightDenser and heavier, with a more substantial material feel.Lighter and generally easier to handle during installation.
Light TransmissionCreates naturally varied translucency and a layered glow through the stone.Light transmission depends on the resin formula and tends to look more uniform.
Heat ResistanceNatural stone offers stable performance for normal lighting applications.More sensitive to prolonged heat exposure depending on the material formula.
Lighting AtmosphereWarm light with visible depth and natural variation.A cleaner, more consistent illuminated appearance with less natural depth.
Price & ValueHigher material cost, with each piece carrying its own natural pattern.More budget-friendly when consistency and cost control are the priority.

Quick guide: Choose genuine alabaster when natural texture and a richer lighting effect matter most. Choose resin when a more uniform appearance and lower cost are the priority.

How to Tell Genuine Alabaster from Resin Imitation
  • Look at the veining: Genuine alabaster has irregular patterns without obvious repetition.
  • Feel the surface: Natural stone usually feels cooler to the touch than resin.
  • Compare the weight: At the same size, natural alabaster is generally heavier.
  • Turn on the light: Genuine stone shows more natural variation and depth through the illuminated surface.
Why We Use Genuine Natural Alabaster

This product is made with genuine natural alabaster, selected for its stone texture, natural veining, and translucent lighting effect.

  • Unique natural veining: Each piece has its own pattern.
  • Authentic stone texture: The material retains the cool, substantial feel of natural stone.
  • Layered light: The stone diffuses illumination with natural variation rather than a perfectly uniform surface.

Natural variation: Differences in color, veining, and translucency are normal. We select pieces to keep the overall fixture visually balanced while preserving the character of the stone.

Which Material Should You Choose?
  • Choose genuine alabaster for natural material character, visible veining, and a richer interior lighting effect.
  • Choose resin imitation when budget control and a highly consistent appearance are more important.
  • For damp or outdoor areas, confirm the fixture rating and material suitability before installation.

Dining RoomRound chandelier / linear chandelier Choose a fixture that feels proportional to the table. For rectangular tables, a linear alabaster chandelier often gives better visual balance.
Kitchen IslandLinear pendant / multiple pendants Match the fixture length to the island length, leaving visual clearance at both ends. Hanging height should consider sightline and ceiling height.
Two-Story FoyerStatement chandelier / cascade chandelier Taller entry spaces usually need more vertical presence. Keep the lowest point visually clear and proportional to the entry height.
StaircaseCascade chandelier / multi-light pendant The fixture should follow the height of the stairwell and remain visible from both upper and lower levels.
BedroomSoft pendant / wall sconces Choose a softer scale and warm light effect. Bedside sconces should relate to bed height and reading comfort.

Alabaster FAQ

Questions About Alabaster Lighting

Alabaster is a natural stone, so every fixture has its own tone, veining, and light effect. These answers help clarify material variation, customization, installation, and delivery.

For custom size, project quantity, or installation advice, send your room dimensions and reference photos.

Is alabaster a real natural stone?
Yes. Our alabaster lighting uses natural stone material. Each piece has its own mineral veining, tone variation, and translucency. This is part of the material’s character and not a defect.
Will the veining look exactly like the product photos?
No two alabaster pieces are exactly the same. The overall style and light effect will be consistent, but the exact veining, color depth, and stone pattern will naturally vary from piece to piece.
Can I customize the size or finish?
Customization requests for alabaster chandeliers, pendants, and wall sconces may be reviewed for size, hanging height, metal finish, color temperature, and layout. For large projects, requested proportions require written confirmation before purchase based on the space.
What color temperature is best for alabaster lighting?
Warm white is usually recommended because it enhances the soft natural glow of alabaster. 3000K is a common choice for dining rooms, bedrooms, foyers, and hospitality interiors.
Is alabaster lighting suitable for bathrooms?
Alabaster wall sconces can be used in many bathroom vanity areas, but the exact suitability depends on the installation location, moisture exposure, and fixture rating. Contact us before using alabaster lighting in damp or high-humidity spaces.
How do you protect alabaster during shipping?
Alabaster is fragile, so we use protective inner packaging and reinforced wooden crates for international delivery. Each order is checked before packing to reduce the risk of damage during transit.
How long does production and delivery take?
Production time and shipping time vary depending on product details, transportation method, and destination.
Can you help me choose the right size?
Yes. Send us your room size, ceiling height, installation photo, and preferred fixture style. We can suggest a suitable size, hanging height, and layout for your project.
